This season as well, Sri Lankan cricketers won't be figuring in Indian Premier League (IPL) coordinates in Chennai. Solid sources say the security organizations in the city have told the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) that players from Sri Lanka could be at danger given the position taken by different gatherings in the State against asserted monstrosities on ethnic Tamils in the island country under the past administration.
The message was passed on to the IPL representing body which, therefore, sanction coordinates in the city without Sri Lankan investment. In the IPL release of 2013, Sri Lankan players speaking to different establishments did not figure in the matches here. In 2014, Chennai did not have any IPL amusement.
Angelo Mathews, the Sri Lankan commander, did not land with the Delhi Daredevils group here on Monday. In spite of the fact that the Daredevils authorities were tight-lipped on the subject, all-rounder Mathews won't play in the duel against Chennai Super Kings at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on April 9.
