Speaking, Propaganda secretary of the FSP - Pubudu Jagoda said that the candidate would be revealed today.
Discussions had taken place between five left wing political parties including the FSP for nearly three months.
During the discussions, names of FSP leader - Kumar Guneratnam as well as politburo members Chameera Koswatta and Duminda Nagamuwa have been suggested as the possible choices for the candidate.
However, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns from internal FSP sources that there is a high possibility of Duminda Nagamuwa being named as the candidate.
Accordingly, the FSP is to face their maiden election.
