    Sanath Jayasuriya Decides Not To Contest Election

    Deputy Minister of Provincial Councils and Regional Development Sanath Jayasuriya  that he resigned as Sri Lanka Freedom Party Chief Organizer in Matara Electorate.

    He also said that he will not contest the upcoming parliamentary election.

    Jayasuriya has informed President Maithripala Sirisena of his decision.

    Jayasuriya won the 2010 Parliamentary Election with 74,352 preferences, coming first from UPFA list in Matara District.
